Meet Our Leadership Team

Suzanne Holroyd, MD
Program Director

Dr. Holroyd has more than 35 years of experience in residency education. Dr. Holroyd’s emphasis for residency training is to provide superb education in a friendly, fun and supportive atmosphere. She is dedicated to improving the availability of psychiatric care to underserved populations in West Virginia and other underserved communities. She believes this residency program will truly make a difference! Dr. Holroyd is board certified in both adult and geriatric psychiatry. She serves as the Chair of the Marshall Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Medicine. She is also an experienced researcher and award-winning teacher. She is excited to welcome new residents to the rural branch of the Marshall psychiatry residency and will work closely with the new residents and entire faculty to ensure a wonderful, successful program.

Dr. Holroyd grew up outside Washington, D.C. but has family roots in West Virginia. She loves outdoor adventures and her dogs (dachshunds). She graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed her psychiatry residency and geriatric psychiatry fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she also served as faculty. She then served as the Director of Geriatric Psychiatry at the University of Virginia for more than 20 years. She came to Marshall in 2014 and believes it is the best job she has ever had due to the outstanding people and the ability to make a difference in an underserved area. She looks forward to working with our new residents!


Brady E. Kullen, DO
Associate Program Director

Originally from western Pennsylvania, Dr. Kullen came to Appalachia to attend medical school at the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he developed a deep appreciation for the region and the mental health needs of its communities. After completing his psychiatry residency at Marshall University, he joined the faculty and now serves as Associate Program Director of the Marshall Rural Psychiatry Residency Program.

Drawing on his experience as both a resident and faculty member at Marshall, Dr. Kullen enjoys guiding residents through the transition from medical school to residency while helping them develop the clinical skills and confidence needed to thrive throughout training. Known for his approachable teaching style, Dr. Kullen strives to create a learning environment where residents feel comfortable asking questions, refining their skills, and developing clinical independence. He believes the best residency education occurs within a culture of support and growth, where residents are challenged to develop into skilled, compassionate psychiatrists ready to serve rural and underserved communities.


Aubrey Long
Program Administrator

Rooted in rural Gallia County, Ohio, Aubrey Long brings a lifelong connection to the area to her role as Program Administrator for the Marshall Rural Psychiatry Residency Program. Having grown up in the region, she possesses an authentic understanding of the local community that she enjoys sharing with incoming residents as they settle into small-town life.

Aubrey holds an MBA from Ohio University and is C-TAGME certified. In her role, she manages the essential behind-the-scenes operations that keep the program running smoothly, including onboarding, credentialing, evaluations, and accreditation. As a primary point of contact for the program, Aubrey is dedicated to guiding residents through their training and ensuring they have the support, resources, and welcoming environment needed to thrive.
