Career Conversations are sessions initiated by the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and conducted by faculty and community physicians for various specialties. These sessions are designed primarily for Ms-1 and MS-2 students but are open to everyone. The sessions may include power point presentations, demonstrations of specialized equipment and Q & A time with the physicians. In the past academic year, “Career Conversations” have been held in the areas of: emergency medicine, anesthesiology, pediatrics, general surgery, radiology, otolaryngology, obstetrics and gynecology and family medicine.
Student-led interest groups and programs are held through the academic year. Interest groups, which are initiated and conducted by the medical students, all have a faculty advisor. Students interested in establishing an interest group should contact The office of Student Affairs. The list of current interest groups and their synopses are located here: https://jcesom.marshall.edu/students/student-organizations/
