Requirements

 Applicants for the Pulmonary Critical Care Fellowship Program must meet the following requirements: 

  1. Have successfully completed 3 years of an ACGME - accredited  Internal Medicine residency and be eligible for the Internal Medicine Board Examination.

  2. Provide at least 3 letters of recommendation from faculty members of your current or prior training programs. One of these letters must be from the current department head or training program director and indicate the applicant’s status regarding board certification. Candidates that have been in practice should submit at least one letter from the department or section head for your current position.

  3. Please note that this institution does not support H 1 B visas.

  4. Submit applications through ERAS.

  5. Applications for Fellowship positions will be accepted from July 1 through September 15.

  6. After review of completed applications, selected candidates will be invited for a personal interview. During this interview, the candidate will have an opportunity to meet with several Pulmonary faculty members and with Fellows in the program.

  7. Final selection is made after interviews are completed. Selection is based on candidates meeting all requirements for fellowship, faculty and fellow evaluations based on the candidate’s credentials and interview. Final approval is by the Fellowship Program Director.

  9. The school has instituted a background check policy for all faculty, staff and residents/fellows. All candidates matched with Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine residency/fellowship programs will be required to submit to a background check prior to actual commencement of training. All residents/fellows will also be required to have a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

  10. Documentation of passage of USMLE Step 3 or equivalent.
