Award
The Psychiatry Resident research project “Outcomes of Universal Screening for Suicidality in Medical Outpatient Clinics” was selected as a winner of the American Psychiatric Association Area 5 Resident Fellow Poster Competition. This was a huge honor and speaks to the quality of the research project. All PGY2, PGY3 and PGY4 psychiatry residents participated in this project Dr. Scott Murphy, as principal investigator on the study, received the award for the residents at the American Psychiatric Association meeting in May. The research poster submitted by MUSOM student Maureen Joyce, Dr. Kelly Melvin and other Marshall co-authors Robin Tolbert DO, Corey Keeton MD, Kelsey Cook MA, and Chris LeGrow PhD , won a national award in the medical student/resident competition!! Of note, there were 345 posters submitted in this competition.
“A National Survey Assessing Psychiatric Education in Primary Care Residency Programs” won “For the Outstanding Poster in the Curriculum Development and Education Category”.
