Applications are accepted through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). This service is available through your medical school or the ECFMG if you are a foreign medical graduate. Foreign medical graduates must have a valid and current ECGMG certificate. We only accept J1 Visas – no H1-B visas are accepted. The Psychiatry Residency Program interviews for four positions each year.
PGY-1: First Year Trainees
The Marshall University Psychiatry Residency Training Programs accepts applications for PGY 1 applications through ERAS only.

Candidates may contact the program to inquire whether there are openings in advance training positions. Applications must submit a Universal Application, USMLE score reports, CV, personal statement, three recent letters of reference, medical school transcript, and dean’s letter. If the resident is currently in a program, there must be a letter from the current training director stating that he/she is aware the resident is seeking training in another program.
