Office of Research and Graduate Education Test

Message from the Vice Dean for Research & Graduate Education

Uma Sundaram, MD

To better coordinate and promote all graduate education at Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine (JCESOM), we recently reorganized the Office of Research and Graduate Education. The office is located in Suite 301 in the Robert C. Byrd Biotechnology Science Center (BBSC). Along with the PhD, the MD/PhD, the Research MS and Medical Sciences MS, the new MS in Clinical and Translational Science degree is housed in this office. Second, a group consisting of current students, recent graduates, and faculty are redesigning the PhD curriculum, both modifying existing courses and adding new ones. These changes will better prepare our students to be more competitive in research that has become more translational and interdisciplinary.

As you can see, positive changes have taken place recently at the School of Medicine to significantly improve the education and training of our graduate students. Please feel free to stop by the Office of Research and Graduate Education to further explore these exciting new developments.
