10th Annual Quality & Safety Summit

The 10th Annual Quality & Safety Summit will be presented in a hybrid format, using both in person and virtual options. 

The keynote address will be delivered by Kyle J. Rehder, MD, medical director of the Duke Center for Healthcare Safety and Quality, at noon Thursday, May 11, in Harless Auditorium.

Schedule of Events:

  • 9 a.m. to Noon: Oral presentations will be delivered in Harless Auditorium throughout the day, starting at 9 a.m. Poster presentations will be available concurrently in the Health Science Library and Medical Center Atrium.
  • Noon: Keynote address by Dr. Kyle Rehder
  • 2 p.m.: Poster awards will be presented following the keynote address.

Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided in the Health Sciences Library.

About the Keynote Speaker: 
In addition to his role as medical director of the Duke Center for Healthcare Safety and Quality, Dr. Kyle Rehder is a pediatric intensivist and section chief of pediatric intensive care at Duke Children’s Hospital, as well as vice chair of education for the Department of Pediatrics.

About the Summit: 
The Annual Quality & Safety Summit is jointly sponsored by the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine Office of Graduate Medical Education and Mountain Health Network to foster inter professional collaboration and communication. Presentations of projects include hospital employees, attendings, resident/fellows and medical students. Many multi-year, multi-disciplinary projects have resulted in improvements in patient safety and quality improvement.
