Dr. Rebekah Fabela named March Resident of the Month

Huntington, W.Va. – Rebekah Fabela, D.O., has been named March Resident of the Month for the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, announced Paulette S. Wehner, M.D., vice dean for graduate medical education.

“Dr. Fabela is hardworking, resourceful and maintains a positive attitude as she teaches others about medicine,” said Wehner.

Fabela is finishing her third year of the pediatrics residency at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. The Northern Kentucky native holds a B.S. in psychology from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky, and a D.O. from the University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, Kentucky.

“Dr. Fabela has shown tremendous growth throughout residency becoming one of our program’s strongest leaders in patient care, teaching and work life balance,” said Audra Pritt, M.D., associate professor and director of the pediatric residency at the School of Medicine. “No one leaves her presence without a smile on their face.”

After graduation, Fabela will remain at Marshall to complete a neonatal perinatal medicine fellowship. As part of her Resident of the Month recognition, Fabela received a plaque and designated a parking spot.
