Dean Gozal recognized for research on dental sleep medicine

NEW ORLEANS, LA.David Gozal, M.D., M.B.A., Ph.D. (Hon), vice president of health affairs and dean of the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University, is the 2024 recipient of the Pierre Robin Academic Award from American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM). 

Since 1999, the AADSM’s Pierre Robin Academic Award has recognized leaders in the field who have shown exceptional initiative and results in education or research with original contributions to dental sleep medicine.  

Gozal is an accomplished researcher in the fields of sleep and sleep apnea and throughout his career has instigated multidisciplinary collaborations to optimize discovery and outcomes of sleep patients. He is among the most Highly Cited Researchers™ by Clarivate™ and the recipient of dozens of honors, awards and recognitions for his work. Gozal has been a federally-funded National Institutes of Health researcher since 1992.
