Application Information & Requirements

Program participants must comply with the immunization and diagnostic procedures required by the department, Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, Marshall Health and Mountain Health Network. The fee for the international Preceptorship Program is $1,500.

  • Resume with current photograph
  • Dental school history/transcript (with translation and evaluation from ECE or WES)
  • Letter of recommendation (1)
  • Personal statement
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFEL) with scores of 75 or higher is preferred but not necessary to apply as long as the candidate has the ability to read, write and converse in English for didactic and conversational comfortability and understanding. 
  • Application to be accompanied by a $100 non-refundable application fee. Make check payable to "Marshall Dentistry & Oral Surgery" and mail to:

Documentation Required

The following documentation is required to accompany the preceptorship application:

  • TB test (current)
  • Flu vaccination - current (preferred)
  • COVID-19 vaccination and boosters - current (preferred)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination
  • MMR vaccination
  • Varicella vaccination
  • Tdap (current)

*Marshall Dentistry and Oral Surgery does not and will not sponsor a Visa for the program.
