Master’s and Doctoral Degree Programs

Choose from master's and doctoral programs through the School of Medicine, including:

Doctoral Programs

  • Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Research (PhD): The PhD program is a research-based degree that does not depend solely on the accumulation of credit hours. Graduates from the program are in biomedical careers--employed by universities or research institutes, industry, state or federal governments, community colleges and in other health professions. >>Learn More

Dual Degree Programs

  • MD-PhD: The Doctor of Medicine (MD) & Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biomedical Research blends the discovery of new knowledge with clinical medicine at the intersection of science and medicine. Most graduates work as physician-scientists at medical schools, conducting disease-related research and applying the results to the treatment of patients. Our MD-PhD graduates offer unique perspective on both the basic science and clinical science behind disease. >>Learn More
  • BS-PhD: The combined Bachelor of Science (BS) to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biomedical Research program allows talented high schoolers and undergraduate students to kick start their research careers. In this accelerated format, students can earn both degrees in just seven years, rather than the traditional eight to nine years it takes to complete them separately. >>Learn More

Dual Degree Programs

  • MS in Biomedical Research (thesis): This program is for students interested in research and either want to strengthen their applications to PhD programs or have an interest in working as a technician in a research lab. The program provides hands-on experience at multiple methods, including bioinformatics. >>Learn More
  • Clinical and Translational Science (CTS MS) >>Learn More
  • MS in Medical Sciences and Research Emphasis (non-thesis): This program is designed for students who wish to work in the medical environment in clinical trials and informatics or those who wish to strengthen their applications to medical school (Medical Sciences area of emphasis).
