Match Day is one of the most anticipated milestones in a medical student’s journey—a day when students learn where they will spend the next three to seven years completing their residency training. Each spring, fourth-year students at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine join peers nationwide in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) to open envelopes that reveal their residency “match.”
Our students consistently secure positions at top residency programs across the country through the NRMP, reflecting the strength of our curriculum, faculty mentorship and extensive clinical experiences. Graduates match into a wide range of specialties, from primary care to highly competitive surgical subspecialties, at institutions recognized for excellence in patient care and research.
Explore the most recent NRMP Match Day outcomes to see where our students are training and the specialties they are pursuing. These results showcase the breadth of opportunities available to Marshall medical graduates and underscore their impact on the field of medicine.
