Organized and sponsored by the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine each fall, Health Sciences Research Day partners with the School of Pharmacy, the College of Health Professions and the College of Science to highlight original research and educational innovations. Participating students include undergraduates as well as graduate, medical, pharmacy, nursing, health professions and postdoctoral trainees in medicine, biomedical sciences and clinical and translational sciences.
The day-long symposium, hosted in the fall of each year, features oral and poster presentations in the areas of clinical science, basic science, medical education and quality improvement.
Abstract submissions are now being accepted for the 38th Annual Health Sciences Research Day set for October 2, 2026, at the St Mary's Center for Education. The body of the abstract should be no longer than 250 words in length, include all appropriate approval numbers (IRB/IACUC/etc.) and provide contact information for all co-authors. The deadline is August 1, 2026 at midnight. Faculty mentors will be required to approve the abstract before it is accepted.
