School of Medicine to host 26th Annual Golf Classic

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University's Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine will host its 26th annual Golf Classic on Tuesday, April 29, at Guyan Golf and Country Club.

The event is a four-player golf scramble with a putting contest, games and the opportunity to win up to $5,000 cash. Player registration, with a boxed lunch provided by Buddy’s All American BBQ, starts at 11 a.m. The tournament begins at 12 p.m. with a shotgun start. Presentation of awards and dinner will follow the tournament.

Event sponsors to date include: Hammers Industries Inc., OVP Health (putting sponsors), E.P. Leach and Sons (hole-in-one sponsor), Champion Industries Inc., Holzer Health System, Drs. Philip Casingal (’92) & Christian Casingal (’23), Drs. Sean Loudin ('05) & Jenna B. Dolan ('04), Marathon Marine, Network for Hope, UK King's Daughters Medical Center (green sponsors), and Radiology Inc. (commencement sponsor). Additional sponsorship packages are available.

Individual golf packages are available for $225 and include green fee, cart, live scoring, lunch, dinner, registration gifts and a chance for great prizes. The cost for School of Medicine alumni, faculty, staff and students is $150. Individual golf packages are complimentary for the Class of 2025.

Proceeds from the golf classic benefit the School of Medicine Class of 2025 scholarship endowment fund and support graduation week activities. In addition to the golf tournament, the class conducted various fundraisers throughout their four years in medical school.
