School of Medicine alumni establish scholarship for aspiring pediatricians

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Drs. J. Thomas Meadows Jr. and wife Andrea N. (Lewis) Meadows have established an endowed scholarship for aspiring pediatricians with the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.

Based in Knoxville, Tennessee, Tom Meadows is a neonatologist and Andrea Meadows is a pediatrician. Both are graduates of the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, Class of 2004.

The scholarship, known as the Meadows’ Pediatric Scholarship, is for fourth-year medical students at Marshall who are interested in pediatrics. The first recipient of the award is Brittany L. Wall, Class of 2016, of Ashland, Kentucky.

“Tom and Andrea each found their passion in caring for infants and children,” said Linda S. Holmes, director of development and alumni affairs for the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. “Now, they are ‘paying it forward’ and making the dreams of the next generation of pediatricians and neonatologists come true.”

For more information on this scholarship or to make a gift to the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, please contact Linda Holmes at 304-691-1711 or go to www.musom.marshall.edu/alumni.
