- Marshall University to host inaugural Pediatric Hospital Medicine Conference

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The Inaugural Pediatric Hospital Medicine Conference, presented by the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine and Marshall Health Network, will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Marshall University Medical Center, 1600 Medical Center Drive in Huntington.
The one-day conference will bring together physicians, advanced practice providers, trainees and other health professionals involved in the care of hospitalized children for a day of learning, collaboration and discussion focused on pediatric inpatient care.
Organized by Marshall’s pediatric hospital medicine team, the conference will feature educational sessions from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. highlighting current topics in pediatric hospital medicine, opportunities to share best practices and time for networking among clinicians committed to improving care for hospitalized children.
“Pediatric hospitalists play a critical role in caring for children during some of their most vulnerable moments,” said Lauren M. Tufts, assistant professor of pediatrics at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine and conference organizer. “This conference creates an opportunity for clinicians to come together, exchange ideas and strengthen the care we provide children and families.”
In addition to Saturday’s general and breakout sessions, the conference will include a networking reception Friday evening, along with an ambulance simulation demonstration by HealthNet and tours of Marshall Health Network – Hoops Family Children’s Hospital on Saturday afternoon.
Continuing education for physicians and nurses is available for this event. Registration is now available at https://marshallPHM2026.eventbrite.com.
