Marshall researchers featured in International Innovation

Marshall researchers work included in international release

Huntington, W.Va.--Zi-Jian Xie, Ph.D., Director of the Marshall Institute for Interdisciplinary Research (MIIR) and Joseph I. Shapiro, M.D., dean of the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine recently had their collaborative research findings included in International Innovation, a leading scientific dissemination service.

Their work centers on how the kidney handles sodium and explains why diets rich in this element are harmful.  Additionally, they discuss the cellular pathways underlying kidney disease and heart failure and identify novel therapeutics for both.
