Dr. Emma Nellhaus named Resident of the Month

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Emma Nellhaus, M.D., has been named Resident of the Month for January at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, announced Paulette S. Wehner, M.D., vice dean for graduate medical education.

“When a critically ill patient required emergent intervention, Dr. Nellhaus demonstrated keen clinical acumen and superb surgical skills to resolve the life-threatening situation,” Wehner said.

Nellhaus is finishing her third year of the OBGYN residency program at the School of Medicine. The Charleston, West Virginia native holds an M.S. in clinical and translational science and M.D. from the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. After graduation, Nellhaus plans to pursue a maternal-fetal medicine fellowship.

As part of her Resident of the Month recognition, Nellhaus received a plaque and designated a parking spot.
