HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Adnan Elghezewi, M.D., has been named the January Fellow of the Month at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, announced Paulette S. Wehner, M.D., vice dean for graduate medical education.  

Elghezewi is finishing his sixth year of the gastroenterology fellowship at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. The Libya native completed his M.D. at the University of Tripoli.  

“Dr. Elghezewi is an excellent teacher who started at Marshall as faculty. The transition from attending physician back to a fellow in training is often difficult, but he has remained positive and professional,” said Wehner. 

“Dr. Elghezewi is kind, humble and a true role model to residents and fellows,” said Wesam Frandah, M.D., associate professor and internal medicine residency program director.  

After graduation, Elghezewi will remain at Marshall as gastroenterology faculty. As part of his resident of the month recognition, Elghezewi received a plaque and designated parking spot.
