HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Britt Day, M.D., has been named the December Resident of the Month at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, announced Paulette S. Wehner, M.D., vice dean for graduate medical education.
Day is finishing her fourth year of the obstetrics and gynecology residency at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. The Virginia Beach, Virginia, native completed her M.D. at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
“A volunteer faculty member nominated Dr. Day for her outstanding knowledge and skills during a delivery and excellent teamwork covering an ill co-resident,” said Wehner.
“Dr. Day is an excellent chief resident,” said Kevin Conway, M.D., professor and director of the OBGYN residency program. “She is very organized, respected by peers and faculty and exhibits the skills and professionalism needed to succeed and serve her patients well.”
After graduation, Day will move to Fort Mill, South Carolina, where she will work as a generalist OB/GYN at Piedmont Medical Center. As part of her Resident of the Month recognition, Day received a plaque and designated a parking spot.
