HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Alec McCann, M.D. has been named Resident of the Month for August at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, announced Paulette S. Wehner, M.D., vice dean for education. 

McCann just completed his fourth year of Mashall’s orthopaedic surgery residency program. The Janesville, Wisconsin, native completed his medical degree at the University of Wisconsin. After graduation, McCann plans to do a sports medicine fellowship at Twin Cities Orthopaedics in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  

As part of his Resident of the Month recognition, McCann received a plaque and designated a parking spot.
