Huntington, W.Va. – Abdul Muhsen Abdeen, M.D., has been named the August Resident of the Month for the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, announced Paulette S. Wehner, M.D., vice dean for medical education.

“Dr. Abdeen makes everyone around him better,” Wehner said. “He will be a life-long learner who puts his patients first at all times.”

Abdeen is finishing his third year of the internal medicine residency program at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. The Palestine native completed his medical degree at Al-Quds University Faculty of Medicine in Jerusalem.

“Dr. Abdeen consistently demonstrates remarkable clinical expertise and genuine compassion for patients," said Eva Patton-Tackett, M.D., associate professor and director of the internal medicine residency program. “His collaborative spirit and dedication enhance our team dynamic.”

After graduation, Abdeen plans to complete a pulmonary/critical care fellowship. As part of his Fellow of the Month recognition, he received a plaque and designated a parking spot.
