Meet Kimberly D. Austin, MD (’01), a proud Huntington native who chose the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine for her medical education journey because of the close-to-home experience. The friendships she cultivated during her time at Marshall remain a cherished part of her professional journey. Empowered by what she learned during her medical school experience, Dr. Austin excelled in residency, laying the foundation for a successful 20-year career in family medicine at OhioHealth in Westerville, Ohio.

Beyond her full-time role, Dr. Austin serves as the system lead physician for her network, overseeing multiple primary care practices and physicians. A dedicated member of the Clinical Care Guidance Committee, she actively shapes medical practices, ensuring top-tier health care standards in central Ohio.

Dr. Austin was the first African-American Yeager Scholar at Marshall University and was inducted as an inaugural member of the Marshall University Black Alumni Hall of Fame in 2023. Dr. Austin is a consistent presence on the coveted "Top Docs" and "Top 100 Physicians List," a testament to her ongoing dedication to providing exceptional care.

She also embodies the wellness she promotes to her patients as a yoga instructor in her free time. She also enjoys travel, photography and spending time with family and friends. Dr. Austin resides with her husband and daughter in Westerville, Ohio, just outside Columbus.
