The department is actively engaged in research aimed at improving patient outcomes and advancing the field of anesthesiology. Our faculty and trainees are involved in studies on pain management, perioperative medicine and patient safety. We encourage collaboration between faculty, residents and students to explore innovative techniques and technologies.
Research opportunities for students and resident physicians are an essential aspect of our program, providing invaluable exposure to an environment that fosters the growth and development of the next generation of scientists and medical professionals. By engaging in research, trainees gain hands-on experience in investigating pressing questions in anesthesiology, contributing to advancements in patient care, pain management and perioperative safety.
Our program emphasizes mentorship, guiding students and residents as they explore diverse research interests, from basic science to clinical studies and health systems research. Through this structured yet flexible approach, trainees learn critical skills in data collection, analysis, and scientific communication, preparing them to contribute to the field and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. These research experiences also enhance their clinical understanding, ensuring that they are well-rounded practitioners who bring evidence-based perspectives into patient care.
By fostering a culture of inquiry and innovation, we aim to empower our residents and students to pursue meaningful research that can influence both policy and practice, ultimately helping to shape a brighter future for health care.
