BS/MD Program

The BS/MD program at Marshall University has been an integral pathway for aspiring medical professionals, and we take pride in the accomplishments of its participants over the past decade.

After careful consideration and review, we have decided to sunset this program. The final cohort was selected in early 2025. This decision reflects our dedication to continually improving and evolving our academic offerings to best meet the needs of students and the health care community.

While the BS/MD program is concluding, the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering the next generation of physicians. We encourage prospective students to explore the following opportunities:

  • Pre-Medical Programs: Marshall University’s rigorous undergraduate pre-medical tracks provide the foundation and preparation needed for medical school success.
  • Summer Outreach Programs: Hands-on programs such as Project PREMED and the Health Care Pathways initiative help students develop skills for their future careers and prepare them for medical school.
  • Traditional MD Program: Our fully accredited MD program offers innovative curriculum and exceptional clinical training opportunities.

We understand that change can bring questions, and we are here to provide guidance and support. Please visit jcesom.marshall.edu/admissions to learn more about our medical education programs and resources.
