Dr. Mlatoum named April Fellow of the Month

Huntington, W.Va. – Dr. Hamza Mlatoum has been named the April Fellow of the Month for the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, announced Paulette S. Wehner MD, vice dean for graduate medical education.  

Mlatoum is finishing his final year of a three-year pulmonary and critical care fellowship at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBCh) from the University of Gharyan Faculty of Medicine (formerly Aljabal Algharbi University Faculty of Medicine) in Libya.  

“Dr. Mlatoum has proven himself throughout this challenging fellowship program,” said Dr. Wehner. “He is a leader in patient care and an excellent educator.”  

Mlatoum was nominated by Abdul Muhsen Abdeen, M.D., a resident in Marshall University School of Medicine’s internal medicine residency program.

After graduation, Mlatoum will serve as a locum tenens physician in regional private practices.

As part of his Fellow of the Month recognition, Mlatoum received a plaque and designated a parking spot.
