Bio

Sara Walker, MD, is an assistant professor of pediatrics at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. She is currently a busy board-certified general pediatrician in our Teays Valley, West Virginia, office. Dr. Walker received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from West Virginia Wesleyan College, where she was a nationally-ranked track runner. She received her medical degree from West Virginia University in 2003 and was inducted as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha honorary medical society. She began her internship in pediatrics at West Virginia University and finished her pediatric residency at the University of Virginia. She completed an additional year as chief resident of pediatrics, focusing on teaching and hospitalist work. She returned to her hometown of Huntington in 2007 to join Marshall Pediatrics. She enjoys teaching medical students, and her clinical interests include newborn care, breastfeeding, childhood development, and the care of adolescents. She is married and has three children who keep her very busy. She continues to make running and exercise an integral part of her life.
