The Clinical Informatics Core Facility has been created to establish an informatics infrastructure to support clinical and translational research in Appalachia West Virginia. Our mission is to transform the health and healthcare of West Virginians through leading-edge clinical informatics technologies.

  • Clinical Informatics is a multidisciplinary profession on the cutting edge which utilizes Information Technologies and Information Management techniques and integrates them into the health care arena.
  • The ultimate goals are to:
    • Improve the quality of healthcare
    • Reduce costs
    • Increase efficiencies and productivity in all areas of health care

Rajan Lamichhane, PhD

Dr. Rajan Lamichhane from the Department of Clinical and Translational Sciences (DCTS) runs Bio-Stat Clinic to provide data analytics services to all faculty, fellows, residents, and students free of cost (during clinic hours). Bio-Stat Clinic is comprised of a dedicated team of experts who are fully committed to providing data analytics services at different stages of research. 

  • Pre-award/pre-IRB research design consultation 
    • Sample size determination, study population/sample identification, study variable identification, study protocol development consultation, statistical analysis section writing, data collection guidance 
  • Pilot study design and planning/survey design
    • Questionnaire development and survey dissemination, collection, and storage through RedCAP
  • Data validation, management, and storage
  • Data analysis and report writing help 
    • Generate analysis reports, tables, graphs, and summary reports 
    • Perform post-hoc analysis for clinical trials and pilot studies
  • Manuscript preparation help
    • Write ready-to-publish data summary and contribute to results and discussion sections. 
    • Review the final version of the manuscript
