Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
Dr. Bobby Miller, a practicing neonatologist, serves as vice dean for medical education at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, a role he has held since 2014. Dr. Miller was born and raised in Ashland, Kentucky. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology (Magna cum Laude) from Marshall University in 1993 and his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1997 from the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, where he also completed a combined internal medicine/pediatrics residency and served as chief resident. After completing his fellowship training in neonatal-perinatal medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas, Dr. Miller returned to join the department of pediatrics at Marshall Health in 2005. Prior to his position as vice dean, Dr. Miller served in the role of pediatric residency program director for seven years. Dr. Miller is a professor of pediatrics, serves as medical director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Hoops Family Children’s Hospital at Cabell Huntington Hospital and continues to maintain an active clinical practice. In July 2021, Dr. Miller was appointed as a professional (voting) member of the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), which oversees the accreditation of all medical schools in the United States.
