Dr. Naveed S. Iqbal selected as March Resident of the Month

undefinedHUNTINGTON, W.Va.—Naveed S. Iqbal, M.D., a first-year cardiology fellow at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, has been selected as the March 2015 Resident of the Month, Paulette S. Wehner, M.D., vice dean for graduate medical education, announced Thursday.

“This month we are recognizing someone who was nominated by a patient’s family member,” Dr. Wehner said.  “To be acknowledged by a patient’s family for the kindness you showed as well as the quality of care you provided is truly a testament to your humanistic training as a physician.” 

Iqbal completed a residency in internal medicine at Wright State University where he was awarded the Barrett H. Bolton MD Humanism Award in 2007.   He is a graduate of the St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine in Grand Cayman and holds a master’s degree in health care administration from St. Joseph’s College.

As part of his recognition as the March Resident of the Month, Iqbal will receive items including a certificate of recognition and a designated parking spot.Monthly winners also will be automatically entered into consideration for the Resident of the Year Award to be announced in May.
